Ghana’s ‘most wanted’ Dr Afari-Gyan, chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC) last week met with the country’s most influential showbiz personality, Bola Ray, under rather unusual circumstances that could have gone bloody.
News-One gathered that Bola Ray and a group of friends were having an ‘after-work’ drink-up at a wine shop near Joy FM when Dr. Afari-Gyan drove his Toyota Land Cruiser into a fleet of cars Bola and his friends had parked near the wine shop.
Fortunately, the damages were minimal and no one was hurt.
The EC Chairman was said to have rushed out of his car thinking someone may have been hurt and it was when he alighted that onlookers recognized him and started mentioning his name.
The rare sight of Bola Ray with Afari-Gyan at an accident scene soon started to attract a swelling crowd.
One of the owner of the damaged cars was said to be Phannuel Mensah Berhart, CEO of Phannydert Entertainment and Afari-Gyan was said to have promised to pay the cost.
But Bola Ray was said to have pleaded with Mensah Berhart, who happened to be his friend, to leave Dr Afari-Gyan alone since he is a statesman.
Bola Ray told Afari-Gyan, “Doctor, don’t worry ok? We will take care of the problem. You can go Doctor everything is under control”.
The EC Boss was said to have remained calm all through the encounter.
