Afrifa's son to contest Western Regional NPP seat

Tarkwa, Dec. 22, GNA - Okatakyie H. Amankwaa Afrifa, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mine-ad Consult, an advertising and events management company, said he was ready to place the Western Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at its proper position if elected as the Assistant Regional Secretary of the Party.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Tarkwa on monday, Mr. Afrifa, the youngest son of the late Major. Gen. Akwasi Amankwaa Afrifa, said to win power in 2012, the NPP needed to ensure unity of purpose and work extra hard.

Mr Afrifa explained that the Western Region branch of the NPP needed an inspired leadership that would assist the Party to achieve its aims and win about seventy percent of votes.

"I seek to place the Regional NPP in a strategic position which shall eventually lead to recapturing all the lost parliamentary seats and at least half of NPP's "virgin" constituencies and ultimately win the presidential election with a very wide margin," Mr Afrifa said.

He said his mission would be to ensure that the fortunes of the NPP were improved by keeping records and data very well. Mr Afrifa said the Party lacked an effective and efficient monitoring system and this had sometimes led to working in isolation. He urged all members of the Party to reactivate their commitment to the party and vote massively for him.

He advised other contestants to conduct their campaigns with decorum so that at the end of the congress, there would be no divisions in the party.
