Afriyie-Ankrah strips Mahama “naked”

In Ghana’s traditional system, if a chief is insulted in secret, the one who carries the insult to the marketplace becomes guilty of that insult.

This is exactly what the dismissed Youth and Sports Minister, Mr. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, has done in his anxiety to let the public know that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is not respected.

Speaking to Paul Adom-Otchere on his Good Evening Programme on Metro TV last Sunday, the demoted Sports Minister recounted an incident in which the President was due to speak to the Black Stars players via skype.

According to Elvis, the players agreed and said that because it was just an hour to kick-off time, they prefer to speak to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama in the dressing room.

In his extreme apprehension to justify the poor performance of the Black Stars at the Brazil World Cup, Mr. Afriyie-Ankrah, on the show, babyishly disclosed that as the players were moving towards the dressing room, one of them whispered to him that; “I hope the president doesn’t speak for one hour”.

Analysts who watched the programme were shocked to have heard Elvis reveal such highly sensitive information on air.

According to them, if he (Elvis) had not said on air that the players disrespected the President, no human being on earth will be privy to what he allege transpired between the players and the First Gentleman of the Land.

In fact, Elvis in his attempt to portray to the world that the Black Stars players disrespected the President of the Republic of Ghana - His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has ended up “stripping him naked,” and many are wondering if by the kind of wisdom exhibited; Elvis is the person some people are day-dreaming of preparing to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2020.
