Residents of Agogo in the Ashanti region are demonstrating against the continuous occupation of their lands by Fulani herdsmen.
The herdsmen were given up to the end of last month to vacate the community with their cattle.
But the residents say the Fulanis are still in the enclave destroying farms and tormenting farmers.
The protracted conflict with the herdsmen has claimed lives of several people and cattle.
A combined team of police and military was deployed to the area by the Ashanti Regional Security Council to flush out the herdsmen to no avail.
According to the residents, the protest is to draw attention to their plight.
Speaking to Starr News, Spokesman for Agogo residents Kingsly Obeng said the security forces are indifferent about their plight.
“They [soldiers] are doing practically nothing here. They were here when two men were shot in their farms, what did they do, they couldn’t arrest…more than six people have been shot but they haven’t arrested…so we want the whole world to know that Agogo is not independent as Ghana is independent.”
