Communication Team Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Agya Yaw Nsiah has backed President Akufo-Addo decision to enforce strictly wearing of nose masks to combat the spread of coronavirus epidemic.
According to him, he believes that the enforcement must be intensified to ensure the safety of Ghanaians during this era.
"Since Coronavirus came to Ghana, President Akufo-Addo has taken bold decisions and I support him fully in the mandatory wearing of nose masks. We wish to encourage the city authorities to enforce the directive strictly because if everyone complied, we will all be safe and that is the only way to defeat the deadly virus," Agya Yaw Nsiah told Kwame Tutu on ‘Anopa Nkomo’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
"This is why every Ghanaian, no matter your status must support and wear the face or nose masks as well as wash hands frequently with soap underwater which have so far proven very effective in the fight against COVID-19."
Agya Yaw Nsiah stated that the directive from President Akufo-Addo will control the spread of the virus and pleaded with Ghanaians to adhere to safety protocols issued by the government.
President Akufo-Addo has now made the wearing of nose masks mandatory across the country. This follows a spike in the number of Coronavirus positive cases.
Ghana’s case count now stands at 11,964 with 54 deaths and 4,258 recoveries.
“Leaving our homes without a face mask or face covering on is an offence,” the president said in his 11th address to the nation on the Coronavirus crisis.
The Police have been instructed to enforce this directive, which is the subject of an Executive Instrument.
