Agona Swedru, March 20, GNA- The Central Regional branch of the Majlis Ansarullah of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission has organized a day's health conference to educate its members on health related issues. The participants who would be educating other members of the Mission were drawn from all the 17 circuits of the missionary in the region. In an address Mrs. Josephine Sika, Senior Principal Medical Assistant of Swedru Government Hospital who spoke on "diabetic disease" urged the participants to be constantly mindful of their eating habits to avoid infection.
She explained that some people contract the disease through hereditary, while others get it through food.
Mrs. Sika mentioned some of the symptoms of the diabetic are as frequent urinating, continuous taking of water and regular taking of soft drinks and advised them to seek early medical treatment at the hospitals.
The Senior Medical Assistant said if diabetes is not treated early it could cause stroke, infertility, miscarriage, impotency and itching. She called on Ghanaians especially adults to undertake frequent body exercise, eating of fruits and balance diet to ensure healthy, adding that if the body is weak productivity would not be enhanced. Mr Ibrahim Acquah, National Training Officer of Majlis Ansarullah said the health conference aimed at educating the members to know their health status would be organized in all the remaining 16 circuits of the Central region.
Mr Acquah who is a missionary at Ekumfi Otuam Circuit of Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission urged the participants to go back and impart the knowledge acquired at the health conference to those who could not attend.
Mr Lartif Aidoo-Eduam, President of Central Regional of Majlis Ansarullah said the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission would continue to organize health conferences for the members to enable them know and seek early medical treatment.
