Air crew member held over drugs

An airline crew member has been arrested at Gatwick Airport after cocaine with an estimated street value of £40,000 was seized.

Officers from the UK Border Agency discovered the drugs, weighing about one kilo, in baggage that had arrived on a Ghana International flight from Accra.

The case has been passed to HM Revenue and Customs and inquiries are continuing. The crew member is being held in custody and will be interviewed by Customs investigation officers.
