A communications team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Eric Sosu, has taken a swipe at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the Airbus scandal.
He averred that the original plan by this government was to use the scandal to smear former President John Dramani Mahama and tag him as corrupt.
However, their "evil plot" could not stand following the clearing of Mahama's name by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
Sosu indicated that the probe by the OSP was orchestrated from the corridors of power with the expectation that it would have nailed Mahama as a corrupt individual.
He said that the former President has been exonerated and cleared, affirming the long-held view that Mahama is incorruptible.
In a discussion on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, Sosu said, “I am sure the NPP has seen their smoothness level. Nobody should dare stand anywhere and make unfounded allegations against Mahama again.
"We had people bragging and claiming that they knew what happened, that Mahama was corrupt, and that he would be implicated in the Airbus scandal. The agenda was to humiliate, denigrate, and tag Mahama with corruption.
"They did the same with Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson in the ambulance saga. They want his seat at all costs, so they want to use the court case as a means to humiliate him. But the Court of Appeal has acquitted and discharged him. They can no longer go about making any allegations again,” he declared.
He said the vindication of Mahama proves his incorruptibility and that he has a better record in the fight against corruption.
