Airtel Ghana donates to Masjidul Bayaan Foundation

Airtel Ghana has donated some cash, carpentry tools and electrical appliances to the Masjidul Bayaan Foundation in Tamale.

A statement issued in Accra by Mr Donald Gwira, the Head of the Corporate Communications and External Affairs, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the donation was in fulfillment of Airtel Ghana’s commitment to making a change and impacting the lives of the less privileged through its sustainable and award-winning Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Airtel Touching Lives.

It said the foundation, which catered for over 600 orphans and the aged in the community, aimed to nurse and raise orphans, by offering them with quality education, access to health and vocational skills.

The statement said the Airtel Touching Lives initiative offered a platform to celebrate humanity, whilst inspiring hope and enhancing people’s quality of life.

“It identifies extraordinary people from all walks of life with dire needs, and aims at fostering a culture of giving selflessly and nominating extraordinary individuals, who ought to be given a gateway to a better life,” it added.

Airtel’s Zonal Business Manager for the Northern Region, Kwame Osafo Amoah, presenting the items, stated that Airtel Ghana was committed to making a change and a positive impact to lives in communities through its sustainable CSR programmes.

“We believe that this presentation will support your foundation in diverse ways to bring smiles to the faces of these young children,” the statement quoted him as saying.

Receiving the items, Sheikh Basha Ibrahim commended the company for honoring their promise towards his foundation.

“I am very much grateful to Airtel Touching Lives for coming here to do us the honor of presenting these items to the foundation,” he said, according to the statement.

“These tools will help the teachers to train the kids to acquire technical knowledge so they can have a source of livelihood.

“These items have been accepted in good faith and I pray that Allah continue to bless your business to be able to do more for humanity.”
