Assembly members for Akim Akokoaso in the Birim North District, Mr Samuel Kofi Debrah and Ms Nancy Ayew and members of the unit committee have held a meeting with the people to draw up a four- year development plan . Projects to be implemented under the plan estimated at 100 million cedis, include the renovation of the Local Authority and Presby Schools, provision of school furniture, construction of a hostel for the Akim Akokoaso Secondary/Technical School, conversion of an abandoned community centre into a police station and a the establishment of a bank. Mr Debrah urged the people to honour their tax obligations regularly to enable the district assembly and the government to undertake more development projects in the area. Ms Ayew asked the youth to abstain from pre-marital sex and appealed to parents to give the same opportunities they give to the education of their boys to their girls. Mr Kwaku Boateng Amoabeng, unit committee chairman, called on the people to bury their political differences and unite for the speedy development of the town. Nana Danso Abiam, Akim Akokoasohene, commended the assembly and unit committee members for their initiative and called on the people to stand solidly behind them to ensure the development of the town.
