The Flagbearer of Independent People’s Party (IPP) Kofi Akpaloo on Tuesday picked his nominations form at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) head office in Accra.

Presidential candidates and parliamentary candidates are required to pay filing fees of GHC50,000 and GHC10,000 respectively but some political parties have kicked against the idea.

But the Flagbearer of IPP has defied all odds to pick his nominations form indicating that he is battle-ready for the December 7 polls.

He told Journalists nothing will stop him from winning this year’s elections, saying money is not a problem.

‘We want people to know how serious we are, we will be the first party to submit our form. We are the only alternative now, everybody is going to vote for us. We are winning the elections and nothing is holding us back…. coming out with an idea has been a problem but money has never been a problem, so if you have good ideas, money will chase that idea, ‘ he explained.

According to him, his government will set up an insurance fund to pay children and unemployment benefits from monies generated from Social Security contributions and taxes.

He added that he will step up a 10 billion dollar job fund to solve unemployment.

The EC will be accepting nominations from presidential and parliamentary candidates on September 29-30, 2016.
