Akua Donkor: I will kick foreigners out of mining sector if...

Presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party, Akua Donkor, has reiterated her ambition to make Ghana a haven for its dwellers.

Noting down the benefits accrued to the nation from gold extraction, Madam Akua Donkor assured the nation that its gold will no longer be in the hands of foreigners.

She told Radio Gold that when voted into power, she will kick the foreigners out of the mining sector and, therefore: “use the gold to boost the economy. I won’t allow the whites to extract gold anymore. Today, I’ve stood firm that I won’t let the whites extract it, Ghanaians will take their land.”

According to her, “the bribery, corruption and all bad things should get out of this country for us to have our peace. That’s why I have set up a party…The culture where if you don’t have money, you don’t go to court, will pass away; a poor person is guilty, in court will pass away immediately.”

She also pledged to eliminate corruption in the country and give equal rights to citizens, whether poor or not, to gain justice from the law courts.

Touching on the ongoing election petition, Madam Akua Donkor, reinforced her position that the petitioners’ case is void and believed the founder and 2012 Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has teamed up with Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, leader of the People’s Progressive Party, to add their votes to Nana Addo’s should the nation go for a run-off.

“They know he did not get it but just helping so that there will be run-off for Paa Kwesi Nduom to add his (votes) to his (Nana Addo's)”, she said, but stressing that there was no rigging in the 2012 elections.

“I will never say that there was rigging. I won’t say it because I didn’t see it. I’ve always advised them, but they did not listen…If they don’t stop it, I will blow their cover.”
