Bolgatanga, Oct. 6, GNA- Nana Akufo-Addo, one of the aspiring Presidential Candidates of the New Patriotic Party, on Friday made a personal presentation of 14 motto-bikes to the Upper East Regional Secretariat of the Party to be distributed to the 13 constituencies in the Region whereas the Regional Secretariat takes the remaining one.
The items, worth 70 million cedis was to facilitate the running of the campaign activities of the party towards the 2008 general elections. The Upper East Regional Chairman of the Party, Mr. Issahaku Ahmed, who made the presentation on behalf of the aspirant to the Constituencies Chairmen urged them to use the items for their intended purpose to enable the party to re-capture power for the 2008 elections. He entreated the constituency' chairmen to work assiduously and not be complacency since the NPP Party was not only the Party clamouring to rule the country and admonished them to eschew petty squabble. "After Congress we would know who would be the Presidential Candidate of the Party. You must all give support to all the Presidential Aspirants who come to the Region to campaign for support and votes," he noted.
The Party's Regional Secretary, Mr. Godfred Koyiba, admonished Constituencies Chairmen not to attempt to endorse any Presidential Aspirant since they were not qualified under the party constitution to do so but could rather assist the Aspirants to get Party Executives who possesses the Party and the voters ID Cards to endorse them. He said he was optimistic that the motorbikes would boost the morale and the spirit of the constituents to enable them to embark on a massive campaign to win more souls for the party.
Mr. Koyiba reiterated the need for the delegates, party supporters and sympathizers to put thee party ahead of personal interests and work together with a common vision of retaining the party in office.
