…On his cousin for power - Dr.Tony Aidoo reveals
decent and peace loving Ghanaians hoping to go to polls come December 7 will be by now revising their notes if some of them were thinking of gambling the future of Ghana into the hands of Akufo-Addo, the Torchbearer of the New Patriotic Party.
There have been several dirty and mind bugling allegations against the embattled Torchbearer ever in the history of Ghana but the revelation made by Head of Policy Monitoring and Evaluation at the Presidency, Dr. Tony Aidoo is too scary and fearful and has confirmed the reason of the all-die-be-die slogan the Flagbearer has declared to win the 2012 elections at all cost.
Dr. Tony Aidoo says the electorates must reject the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer in the December elections because he chased his cousin with a full loaded pistol when he wanted to become a Member of Parliament for his constituency.
The Head of Policy Monitoring and Evaluation at the Presidency who made this revelation on Monday at the NDC Forum For Setting The Records Straight said Akufo-Addo pulled a pistol on his cousin who was contesting the seat with him when he wanted to win power at all cost. He says the NPP and its leader has poor human rights and economic management records and voting it back into power will be disastrous.
“Is this the democracy we [want]? This country will be better of if we can get the NPP out of the politics of the country. We have seen them in power for eight years and we know that the leopard cannot change its spots,” he said.
He accused the NPP of spearheading an agenda of vilification, tribalism and ethoncentrism against thousands of Ghanians during their time in office. “The NPP has not changed since the 1960s when they used to kill and maim innocent women because they had different linguistic or tribal origin. But they were Ghanians,” he narrated. He taunted the NPP’s Anthony Karbo who is being investigated for making comments that could disturb the public peace, saying Mr. Karbo has gone into hibernation after his alleged secret plots of bringing in “badboys” to cause mayhem in the election came to light. “Are Ghanians going to sit and vote for these people? We should not be afraid to set the record straight because for all the years that we have been an independent country, the NDC has given the best administration of this country than any other political party apart from Kwame Nkurmah.”
He said the conditions in which the PNDC came to meet Ghana was such that if the NPP had been in charge, the country would have been a failed state.
