President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reportedly made three new ambassadorial appointments.

The president, according to a report by myjoyonline.com, has appointed his Deputy Chief of Staff, Fawaz Aliu, as Ambassador-At-Large.

He has also appointed Major General Charles Kojo Abedi Awity as Ghana’s Ambassador to Serbia, and Peprah Ampratwum as Ambassador In-Situ.

Fawaz Aliu, in addition to his duties as Deputy Chief of Staff, will take on a special diplomatic assignment as Ambassador-At-Large.

Major General Abedi Awity, as Ambassador In-Situ, is expected to be consistently present and actively involved in key events or decision-making processes of the Akufo-Addo government.

His position makes him a pivotal figure who will oversee or influence outcomes in the government.

At the swearing-in of the three ambassadors at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, President Akufo-Addo expressed his confidence that the appointees will excel in their new roles and further strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic efforts worldwide.

He urged them to help deepen the ties between Ghana and other countries as well as connect Ghana to investment opportunities.
