The president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has commended the Ghana Air Force for its commitment to safeguarding the country's democracy.
Speaking at the 2024 Wings Parade in Accra on November 29, 2024, he said: "During national elections, the Air Force has consistently demonstrated its commitment to democracy by facilitating the seamless transport of personnel and election materials. These endeavors reflect the operational excellence of the Air Force and underscore the symbiotic relationship between the Armed Forces and the civil populace.”
"As we gather to witness the culmination of this rigorous journey, we are reminded of the Ghana Air Force's indispensable role in safeguarding our sovereignty and advancing the developmental aspirations of our beloved nation," he remarked.
As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the president expressed admiration for their tenacity and praised their dedication to upholding the highest traditions of service and discipline.
"The accomplishment we celebrate today is not only a reflection of your technical and professional prowess but also proof of your perseverance, resilience, and unyielding commitment to excellence," he noted.
The president also presented Aviator Wings or Air Crew Badges and Awards to twelve new pilots at the Ghana Air Force Base.
