Akufo-Addo doesn't scare NDC one bit - Kwabena Adjei

National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Adjei says his party is not scared of the main opposition party’s twice-defeated candidate’s declaration to run again.

Adjei also said he is confident the NDC will beat Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo again in the next general elections in 2016.

The former minister of lands and forestry told host of TV3’s Hot Issues, Kweswi Pratt Jr, on Saturday that the NDC is “not frightened” by the former Attorney General’s re-entry into the race for a possible third attempt at the presidency.

Akufo-Addo lost to late John Mills in 2008 and to John Mahama in 2012. He, together with his two-time running mate, Mahamudu Bawumia, and party Chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, challenged the 2012 results in the Supreme Court.

The court upheld John Mahama’s victory. Akufo-Addo recently announced a comeback after a six month hiatus.

Kwabena Adjei said Akufo-Addo is not a threat to the NDC because “I know that we have a group of NDC people who are unwavering in the way they vote. There’s no way Nana Akufo-Addo will get some of our people to add to his vote. We are going to capture more NPP people.”
