A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dela Seworkpo, has chided government for what he described as showing inconsistency and deceiving Ghanaians.

According to him, the Akufo-Addo-led government are not doing what they promised Ghanaians in their campaign messages to voters, prior to the 2016 elections.

Hence government is going round in circles by living in the campaign mood and not fulfilling its promises.

“Akufo-Addo and NPP communicators are living in perpetual campaign mood. Because it’s difficult to draw the line between when they were campaigning to win elections and now that they are in government.” He indicated.

In an interview on Neat FM, he stated that the ruling NPP have the habit of running away from core issues that derail the country. He stressed that the nepotism has made corruption pivotal thus many go unpunished as a result of their affiliations to government.

Citing the issue of Ibrahim Mahama’s Nyinahin bauxite concession, he said the NPP initially said the reserve amounted to $2b but now government is saying the 75 percent bauxite deposit is worth almost $200b.

“What kind of inconsistency is this?” He queried.

“If you say Ibrahim Mahama has committed a crime, you are in government. You have the Attorney General at your disposal. Go ahead and prosecute.”

Dela thus reiterated that President Akufo-Addo, as a leader, has failed since he does not portray attributes of leadership which include truth, principle and truth.

He claims Ghanaians have now noted the difference between John Mahama, being the truthful person, and Akufo-Addo as the one who practices nepotism.

“The statement Akufo-Addo made in Kumasi while in opposition won him the votes of majority of Ghanaians. This is because the people were convinced that opportunities will cut across Ghanaians and not centered on family and friends.”

He added, “So today if you go against your people and engage in nepotism, we have every right to question the president because that’s what he told the people. Why are you doing contrary to what you told the people. No wonder when you pose certain questions/clarifications at them (NPP) they say every government can borrow.”
