Akufo-Addo has failed woefully - Victor Smith punches

President Nana Akufo-Addo President Nana Akufo-Addo

Ghana’s former Ambassador to the UK, Victor Smith, has lashed out at the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for failing woefully in the corruption fight after promising to jail corrupt officials of the erstwhile administration and also reluctant to address issues relating to the mismanagement of the economy.

Victor Smith said the hardships Ghanaians are going through is due to the high increase in utility tariffs, was a clear indication that the government had failed.

He said, although President Akufo-Addo pledged to provide better leadership, he has failed to deliver on that promise.

The former UK Ambassador, however, assured Ghanaians they will experience superior leadership under a new National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration if they are voted into power in 2020.

“We urge the Akufo-Addo administration to be up and doing. It is the duty of the government to secure the lives of its citizens,” Victor Smith told Kwaku Dawuro on Anopa Nkomo on Accra based Kingdom FM 107.7.

“Ghanaians voted for the NPP because they promised to deliver. They thought it was easy for anyone to manage the economy. They were voted into office only to come and exhibit extreme incompetence. Every country he opined develops on its social and economic infrastructure and as part of that, his administration invested heavily in infrastructure by constructing schools, hospitals among others

In his view, majority of Ghanaians are going through hardships whiles some of his appointees are seriously amassing wealth at the expense of the state.

He expressed disappointment that a number of the projects remain uncompleted since the NDC administration left office in January 2017.

According to him, Ghanaians are facing hardship because the current government is led by a failure.
