Nana Akufo-Addo has no excuse to fail because he is the most experienced personality to have ascended the presidency in the history of Ghana, according to Prof. Stephen Adei.
The former rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) believes the fifth president of the Fourth Republic
has gone through the mill and must succeed.
“Akufo-Addo is coming to the position better equipped,” Prof. Adei said on Starr Chat on Wednesday.
Akufo-Addo has been a Member of Parliament and has occupied two ministerial positions before being elevated to the first office of the land.
This, Prof. Adei noted, makes him a suitable person to occupy that position.
“He has been a politician and has occupied top most positions and no one has found him corrupt. He has the potential than any Ghanaian head of state, but whether that potential will translate into reality we shall see,” Prof. Adei stated.
He served notice he will criticize the former foreign affairs minister just as he did during the tenure of former President John Mahama.
“Mahama is a very nice man, but I had a problem with certain decisions and actions. I don’t hate him. If I have the same issue with Akufo-Addo I will say it. There was corruption in the system. I like Mahama as a person but I think on the whole he did not do an excellent job,” Prof. Adei opined.
