President Nana Addo Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has heaped praises on the Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Tamale South Haruna Iddrisu.

At his first State of the Nation’s Address to parliament, he observed that the eloquent lawmaker has a future in Ghanaian politics and promised to cooperate with the minority side during his tenure as president.

“It is clear he has an important future in Ghanaian politics. I want assure him and the leadership of house of both sides that I will cooperate fully with parliament to enhance the governance of nation to be able to do the business of the house effectively”, he said.

Haruna Iddrisu met Nana Akufo-Addo in parliament before the 2008 elections when he was the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) which went into the polls and lost to late Professor Evans Atta Mills.

This is whoever not the first time leading members of the party has praised the minority leader touting his leadership credentials.

A couple of weeks ago,  Maverick politician and Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency in the Central region Kennedy Agyepong  also him   for  showing good leadership.

He believes that the Tamale South legislator has over the years proven to be on top of his job and risen very fast in his current position.

“Haruna is very a intelligent young man and has learnt a lot on the job. I was not surprised he was made the minority leader because this is someone who knows what he is about and can do a lot to help his side in parliament”, he emphasized.

Mr Kennedy Agyepong is however alleging that some elements within the minority are trying to undermine his leadership for which reason they cooked up the Boakye Agyarko’s  bribery story to make him look as though he is not on top of the job.

While stating that the bribery saga was instigated within the NPP itself by aggrieved supporters who have not been given positions, he promised their claim will fall flat and they will not succeed in their bid to destroy Nana Addo’s administration.

On his involvement in giving out bribe monies, Kennedy Agyepong said he knows nothing about it and will not hesitate to drag his accusers to court.
