The former President of the Ghana and founder of the ruling National Democratic Congress Jerry John Rawlings has wished the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party well in the upcoming presidential elections.
According to Mr. Rawlings, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has a good chance of winning the November 7 polls just like other candidates in the race.
“I would say Nana Akufo-Addo is one hell of a bold character and I wish him well and I wish the other leaders including John Mahama also well.
"Let us just make sure we play it fair,” Mr. Rawlings told Nana Aba Anamoah, host of State of Affairs on GHOne TV in an interview.
Nana Akufo-Addo who has twice failed to become President would face NDC’s John Mahama and CPP’s Ivor Greenstreet in the November 7 parliamentary and presidential elections.
The former president, however, said he doubts if President John Mahama is fighting corruption as he claims.
“Well, he [Mahama] says he is fighting corruption effectively, I don’t think so, I think he could have done much much better,” he stated.
