Akufo-Addo is a threat to NPP’s 2016 victory – Apraku’s Office

The Office of former presidential aspirant, Kofi Konadu Apraku says the main opposition New Patriotic Party’s twice-defeated presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, has progressively eroded the party’s fortunes in the regions and so has now become a threat to the party’s quest to winning the 2016 elections.

Apraku’s Spokesperson, Dennis Kobina, told XYZ News in an interview that: “[former President] Kufuor in his first victory won five regions. The second time he won 7 regions. So when Kufuor was leaving, he handed over 7 regions to Nana Addo.”

“Let’s compare to now. Nana Addo dropped from seven to two regions [in his first try]. The second time, he dropped from two regions to one and a half regions,” Kobina said.

“My boss is ready to take [the NPP] from one and half regions to seven regions,” he told XYZ News.

Dr Apraku and Nana Akuof-Addo contested for the NPP’s flagbearer slot in 2007 among 15 others. Akufo-Addo won and led the party to the 2008 elections. Akufo-Addo’s second attempt at the presidency in 2012 was under the directorship of Apraku.

Now the former minister of trade has declared his intention to run against the former Attorney General ahead of the 2016 general elections.
