Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) think their flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, is a god, but he is nobody, the leader and flag bearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has said.
The APC flag bearer has recently launched a number of attacks on Mr Akufo-Addo with barely three months to the general polls in December. According to Mr Ayariga, Nana Akufo-Addo is the wrong person to manage Ghana, describing his ‘One-Village-One-Dam’ and other campaign promises as the joke of the century.
Speaking on the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Class91.3FM on Wednesday September 28, Mr Ayariga told show host Prince Minkah: “The NPP thinks Nana Addo is a god. Nana Addo is nobody, he is no god. I want the NPP to know in this world that if Nana Addo is what they think he is, he will have won elections for them. He is nobody; he is just an ordinary human being.”
Adding to his recent attack on the NPP flag bearer that he still lives in his father’s house despite being 72, Mr Ayariga said: “Where I come from, [the eldest] son [doesn’t] live in his father’s house after a certain age; that’s leadership. You must move out and let the youth take over and show leadership.”
Mr Ayariga stated that he was a better leader than Nana Akufo-Addo. “Compare me to Nana Addo and let’s make the statistics and see who is better. It’s about leadership. Who is better to take over from John Dramani Mahama…? I was saying that the NPP is not an option to the NDC, the PPP is not an option to the NDC. The only option to the NDC is the APC.”
