The Member of Parliament for the Odododiodoo constituency, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has voiced his dissatisfaction with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's tenure.

He criticized Akufo-Addo's handling of the Ghanaian economy, which he believes has caused hardship for the citizens.

Vanderpuye also contended that the president's economic record is the poorest in the nation's history.

Vanderpuye suggested that if he were in Akufo-Addo's position, he would apologize to Ghanaians for not fulfilling promises and for the people's suffering.

In an interview with Citi FM and monitored by GhanaWeb, the MP stated that President Akufo-Addo will be remembered as the worst president in the fourth republic.

“… If I were Nana Addo, the best thing I would do as a person is to apologise to the millions of Ghanaians who voted for me and whom I have hugely disappointed. Nana Addo will go into history as the worst president ever in the fourth republic of this country. Worst President ever because he is the most corrupt president in our history.

“He is the one who has collapsed our economy. Ghana’s economy today is worse than at any time in our history. Is that the legacy he is talking about? Of course, John Mahama will come and correct all,” citinewsroom.com quoted him as having said.

These remarks followed Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's plea to Ghanaians not to elect the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, in order to preserve his legacy.

This statement has faced severe backlash from people who believe such comments are unbecoming of his position.
