President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Friday, 2 February 2018, left the country, upon the invitation of M. Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, and M. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, to lead the Ghanaian delegation to the 3rd International Conference on the “Replenishment of the Funds of the Global Partnership for Education”.
A statement signed by Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, said the president was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway; the Minister for Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh; and officials of the Presidency, Foreign and Education Ministries.
President Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana the same day, and in his absence, Vice-President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act in his stead.
