The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused President Akufo-Addo of travelling too much, adding that his frequent travels are depleting the public purse.

“We are demanding a full disclosure of how much money he takes as per diem for his numerous travels? Is it 4000 dollars or 5000 dollars as it is being rumoured”? the party’s chairman, Kofi Portuphy alleged at press conference in Accra Thursday.

The opposition party further lashed out at the ruling party, saying “arrogance lies and dishonesty has become visible trademarks of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government,”

According to the party, Contrary to the NPP's promises to protect the public purse; president Akufo-Addo has done exactly the opposite, warning that.
the NDC “shall not sit and watch this dear nation of ours be destroyed” by an “embarrassing” NPP administration.

“The least Akufo-Addo can do is to allow Ghanaians to suffer in peace and not in turmoil,” the former NADMO boss said.

The party also accused the president of embracing corruption – the very thing he vigorously campaigned against adding that the new government was sinking in the quick sands of corruption within his six-months in office, citing the BOST scandal as a typical example.
