Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta has assured Ghanaians that the Akufo-Addo led government will yet again fulfil another key promise in the NPP’s manifesto during the 2016 elections.

Mr. Ofori Atta, while addressing parliament on the Budget Statement and Economic Policy that focused on jobs, revenue mobilisation among others, disclosed that all constituencies across the country would be receiving ambulances promised by President Akufo-Addo.

“To address the problem of a lack of ambulances in many parts of the country we have procured 307 well-equipped ambulances for the National ambulance service under the one constituency one ambulance initiative. By next month, all 275 constituencies will each have a functioning ambulance. This will increase the ambulances from 54 to 361, over 500% increase.”

The first batch of the procured buses arrived in September with the assurance that the remaining would be delivered before the end of the year.

Earlier, President Akufo-Addo while addressing some 378 newly inducted doctors stated that the second batch of the buses was due to arrive in October.

“The first batch of 48 ambulances out of the 300 procured by my Government for distribution for each of the 275 constituencies i.e 1 constituency, 1 ambulance and to the National Ambulance Service has arrived in the country with the second batch due in Ghana by the first week in October, by the end of this year, they will all be in.”
