Broadcast Journalist with GhOne TV, Serwaa Amihere says with what she’s seeing, the President’s pledge to make Accra one of the cleanest cities in Africa will become a pipe dream.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo pledged to make Accra the neatest and best city in Africa by the end of his first term of office.
He said, “The commitment we are making and which I want you all to make with me is that by the time we end our four-year term, Accra is going to be the cleanest city in Africa”.
However, Serwaa Amihere who has been monitoring the city and the level of filth that engulfs it believes that the President’s pledge cannot be attained.
Expressing her opinion on the issue through a tweet, the bubbly newscaster said ” With exactly one year to go to the end of Prez Akufo-Addo’s term, it is fair to say that the promise to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa will remain a pipe dream on the evidence of what we have seen. We are nowhere near being the cleanest city in West Africa, let alone Africa”.
