Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yamin, has said President Akufo-Addo's "shaky stance" on homosexuality is aimed at pleasing the homosexual community for aid.

President Nana Akufo-Addo in a recent interview with Aljazeera touched on several issues including homosexuality.

“This is a social, cultural issue, I don’t believe that in Ghana so far, a sufficiently strong coalition has emerged which is having that impact on public opinion that will say ‘change it, let’s now have a new paradigm in Ghana.’

“At the moment, I don’t feel, I don’t see that in Ghana there is that strong current of opinion that is saying this is something we need to deal with. It is not so far a matter that is not on the agenda,” the President said.

Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Monday, Joseph Yamin explained that the President unlike the former president Attah mills are trying to please the gay community in order to access funds to finance his failing policies such as the free SHS.

According to Joseph Yamin, the gay community is very influential and the President’s speech suggests that should they push the homosexual agenda and it will be legalized.

“I would not be surprised if the President is running away from the truth by trying to play fair. What is Nana Addo really seeking if not for funds to support his failing policies”, he added.
