Akufo-Addo wants to plunge Ghana into chaos – Akua Donkor

The Founder and Leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor says the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) victory in the 2012 general election was an act of God.

She alleged that God saved Ghanaians from the tyrannical rule of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), flagbearer; Nana Akufo-Addo whom she claimed wanted nothing, but to plunge Ghana into chaos.

Akua Donkor’s comment was to emphasize her disapproval of the ongoing Presidential Election Petition before the Supreme Court.

NPP is challenging the legitimacy of President John Mahama who was pronounced winner of the election by the Electoral Commission (EC).

The party’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo and two others are praying the court to overturn the verdict of the EC citing massive irregularities in the election results.

But speaking on Peace FM Friday, Akua Donkor scoffed at NPP’s decision to challenge the election results in court.

According to her, the 2012 election was the most transparent, free and fair hence NPP’s claim of irregularities is a figment of their imagination.

Akua Donkor stated that Ghanaians must be grateful to God for not allowing Akufo-Addo to become president because Ghana would have been hell.

The failed 2012 presidential candidate posited that the infamous All die be die comment gives more credence to Akufo-Addo’s diabolic plans if he had won the election.

She alleged that someone whose forebears masterminded the overthrow of Ghana’s first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is more than capable of causing mayhem in the country if the court case does not go his [Akufo-Addo] way.

Akua Donkor was quick to add that her position about the NPP is not influenced by money or any group of persons but is just stating the bare facts as a concerned citizen.

In a quick rebuttal, the National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Anthony Karbo called the bluff of Akua Donkor describing her as "ignorant of the electoral laws".

He said Akua Donkor is just exhibiting her menopausal symptoms therefore the NPP will treat her comments with the contempt it deserves.

The NPP Youth Organizer maintained that some members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) who know the party is bound to lose the court case have taken advantage of Akua Donkor’s "ignorance" for their selfish gains.

He said the ploy to incite Ghanaians against the NPP for going to court has backfired.

Anthony Karbo said Nana Akufo-Addo remains focused and unperturbed in his bid to ensure justice is served.
