Some alien elements have been identified among supposed nursing students who ‘begged’ Former President John Dramani Mahama for contributing to his defeat in the 2016 election.

The students, some of whom belong to the Nalerigu Nursing and Midwifery Training College reportedly mobbed the former President, knelt down and chanted apologies at a durbar organised during his tour in the Savannah Region, Friday, August, 30, 2019.

“JM we are sorry nurses need you back”, some of the placards the held read.

In a response from management of the college however, the action comes to them as a surprise considering the students were bussed to the venue without their knowledge, took those actions on their own and more importantly, were not a complete representation of students of the school.

“This incident took place at the palace of the Overlord of Mamprugu, these students were transported there without the knowledge and approval of the management. These students have benefited fully from the students trainee allowance following its restoration by the government and that some of the individuals in the nursing trainee uniform are not known to be students of the institution”, portions of the statement read.

They therefore are disassociating themselves from comments expressed by these individuals and maintaining that the views and policy orientations of the institution and generality of its students were not represented in any way by the actions of the said students.
