All is set for 2013 BA Meet Your Mate

Brong–Ahafo’s biggest outdoor event, the Storm FM BA Meet Your Mate is set to hit Sunyani in a grand style on Saturday, November 2, 2013. BA Meet Your Matebrings together old student from all Ghanaian second cycle and tertiary institution on one platform, to relive the exciting school days.

The schools renew old rivalries at various games including, eggs and spoon race, arm wrestling, Azonto and Alqida dance contest, scrabble, eating and jama competitions as well as thrilling performances from some of Ghana’s biggest musicians.

The jama competition stole the show last year when Conti students clashed with old student of Osei Tutu Senior high School The event, which captivated Brong-Ahafo‘s capital during its maiden edition at the Sunyani Coronation Park in 2012, has been moved to Sunyani Polytechnic Park because of the large number of patrons who have indicated their participation.

The Events and Promotions Manager of Storm FM, Nana Osei Addo, told the media in Sunyani that the new venue offers new opportunities and a stage to rebrand and introduce new activities. This year’s event will be ‘’bigger and better than last year’s’’ he says.

Speaking on Storm FM, Nana Addo said about 50 Schools, including, Opoku ware School (OWASS) Katanga Hall (KNUST) and the Vandals, (University of Ghana) have registered for this year’s BA Meet Your Mate with majority of them having made impressive studio appearances preceding the main event. The General Manager of Storm FM, Kwadwo Owusu–Ansah, said adequate measures have been put in place to forestall any eventualities. He said the police and the National Ambulance Service would be on duty throughout the event which commences at 6am till 6pm. He commended the sponsors who have demonstrated confidence in the Storm FM brand. Prominent personalities such the former Brong –Ahafo regional Minister, Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, the Krontihene of Sunyani, Oboaman Bofotia Boa Amposem, Lawyer Otu Essel, Kwame Adinkra, Grace Ashley, Pastor Kojo Oteng, have all endorsed the event.

Major sponsors of the event include, Fiesta Condom, Accra Brewery Limited, and Bisvel Communications. Other supporters are Nyandi Venture, Grandview Service, Just Cool Drinking Water, AKA Farms, Alphatronic Electronics.
