Saltpond (C/R), June 3, GNA - Mr Kwaku Ofori-Adu, former Central Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on Ghanaians to exercise patient and allow the government time to shape the economy for the better.
"The indicators have shown that the economy under the NPP administration is on the right track we only have to be patient for it to reflect in our pockets," the former Chairman said in an interview with Ghana News Agency at Saltpond at the weekend. Mr. Ofori-Adu said though the improvement of the economy was not being felt in the individual pockets, poverty reduction interventions the government and its donor partners have put in place were to cushion the hardships facing facing the people.
He said, "we should take advantage of the peace in the country to plan for something to to support our income."
Mr Ofori-Adu appealed to the people to rally behind the government and return it to power in 2008 as a change of government would disorganise the programmes for the economic recovery and set the clock back once more. 03 June 06
