Amakom SDA singing band celebrate 35th anniversary

Kumasi, Aug 13, GNA- The South Central Ghana Conference (SCGC) of the Amakom Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church, at the weekend celebrated the 35th anniversary of their singing band in Kumasi amidst pageantry. The celebration coincided with the dedication of their GH=A210,000 (10 million cedis) singing band robes, which was done by Pastor Kwaku Adu-Boahen, Music Director of the Church.

In an address, Pastor Boahen said God is holy and those who worshipped him must try to be holy and worship him in Faith. He called on the singing group and other choirs, which turned up to grace the occasion to take good care of their robes and use singing to console the depressed and the afflicted.

He urged them to use the robes to praise and glorify God to win more souls for Christ and the Church at all times and at anywhere. Pastor Patrick Yeboah-Boateng, Amakom District Pastor, prayed that anytime the singers wore the robes they would be filled with spirit and strength to convert people.

Mrs Elizabeth Asumadu, Church secretary who spoke on the history of the Singing Band said the group has helped in drawing many people to the Church.
