Management of a leading Rural Bank in the Ashanti Region, Amansie West Rural Bank has made a donation worth thousands of cedis towards the construction of classroom blocks in the Ashanti Region.
A donation of 50 bags of cement was made to support the construction of an eight-unit classroom block at the Denyaseman Catholic Senior High School (SHS) in the Bekwai Municipality of Ashanti Region to accommodate 2018/2019 SHS 1 students.
The kind gesture follows Headmaster of the school, Mr Boakye Yiadom Boama's appeal for funds to overcome infrastructural challenges among other pressing issues facing the school.
"Several letters have been sent to appropriate quarters for help but none of the letters has been acknowledged. Sooner or later the SHS 1 students will begin of which the school will face classrooms problems and it will be very difficult to admit new students," Mr Boama said in an interaction with the media.
The teaching and non-teaching staff of Denyaseman Catholic Senior High School (SHS) have also made personal donations to support the course.
The personal donations and staff motivation have so far accumulated an amounted of Eight thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh8000.00) to commence the project.
Director of the bank, Mr Ohene Baffour Kuma alongside the Deputy General Manager, Mr Frederick Kyei Kwakye led a delegation to present the items to the school and pledged their support to make further donations until the completion of the project.
In his address, Mr Kuma called on private and public institutions, traders, individuals to transact with the Amansie West Rural Bank in a bid to support their corporate social responsibility primarily in the Region and other parts of the country.
"Let's all help build Amansie west Rural Bank," he noted.
On receipt of the donations, the headmaster, Mr. Boakye Yiadom Boama thanked the management and staff of Amansie West Rural Bank for the kind gesture.
Meanwhile, management of the Amansie West Rural Bank has also donated 100 bags to Manso Adubia SHS for a similar project.
