Ambassadorial Postings -More 'Apo'

H.E. Kabral Blay-Amihere, is on his way to La Cote d'Ivoire from his base in Sierra -Leone, where he would be replaced by Dr (Mrs) Mokowa Blay Adu-Gyamfi, a Medical Doctor and wife of the President of the Ghana Medical Association.

Also on the list of postings is the wife of the Volta regional 'godfather' of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and presidential friend, Tommy Amamatekpor, who is bound for a high profile position of Ambassador to Denmark, which is currently being handled by the former representative of Ghacem, Ambassador E. Adu. He is to head the embassy in Germany, which has relocated from Bonn to Berlin.

The new Berlin building is steeped in controversy, following a multi-billion cedi retooling contract awarded to the famous Alex Asiedu, who is currently under police and Attorney General's scrutiny for deals that have gone sour.

Other appointees formally announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs include Mr. Leslie Kojo Christian, Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Ghana Mission at the United Nations (New York); Mr. Akilaja O. Akiwumi, Senior International Civil Servant for Egypt); Mr Kofi Sekyiamah, former Chief Director of the Information Services Department, Australia; Major- General F. Adu-Amanfoh, Former Head of Defence Intelligence, Ghana Armed Forces, Liberia.

Others include the controversial Alhaji Rashid Bawa, Former Minister of State in charge of Youth and Sports for Saudi Arabia; Air Vice Marshall Edward A. Mantey, Russian Federation; Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, Former Chairman, Ghana Football Association, Serbia & Montenegro and Rear Admiral John K. Gbenah, a retired Navy Commander, Zimbabwe.

The rest are Mrs. Afua Daaku, Lecturer and Social Worker for Namibia; Mr Mogtari Sahanun, Former Upper West Regional Minister, Burkina Faso and Major-General C. B. Yaachie for Mali.
