American film star in for HIV/AIDS project

Accra, May 16, GNA - A renowned American film actor, Stephen Seagal, has arrived in Ghana on Monday to participate in the Save a Million Lives HIV/AIDS and Orphan projects slated for May 17, in Ghana. The project, which is being organised by the NEKOTEC Centre, an NGO in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service, Ghana AIDS Commission, the Students National Medical Association, based in the United States of America will take place in Accra, Ada, Cape Coast and Kumasi.

Mr Seagal's visit is expected to bring the plight of African orphans and babies to the fore and also the completion of elimination of mother to Child HIV/AIDS transmission in Africa.

Seagal will also meet with officials of the Ghana Film Industry to discuss how best to use Ghana as a destination for his future film projects.

Mr Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, who was at the Airport to meet Seagal, expressed his delight and hoped that the film star would use the opportunity to look around the various tourists attractions, where he could possibly launched his film project, adding that, other film stars had been in Ghana to look for places to shoot their films.

Whilst in Ghana, Seagal will pay a courtesy call on President John Agyekum Kufuor, the Ga Mantse, the Minister of Health, the Director General of the Ghana AIDS Commission, as well as the Asantehene.
