Anita De Sosoo, Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress NDC has predicted that the NPP will soon fall out with Martin Amidu, the newly appointed Special Prosecutor.
Speaking on Homebase’ political talk show “Your take, Our take” she remarked that, the NPP will bear the brunt of Amidu’s prosecution in his discharge of duties sooner or later.
“They don’t know Amidu. We have worked with him over the years and know his modus operandi. It is almost impossible to compromise him,” she said.
She indicated that, if the current government thinks he has been installed to do their bidding, by chasing other persons, they are mistaken as he will come after them when they step on his toes.
“Mark it somewhere; Amidu will not complete his tenure in office as Special prosecutor. Two things are bound to happen in the future; either they terminate his appointment or he resigns himself when they try to push him to cover up their ‘dirty deals’ They (NPP) don’t know him better than we do. So, let’s wait and see,” she said.
Madam De Sosoo also urged government to chart a clear path in its fight against corruption and stop blaming others for the decline in the ranking of Ghana on the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) published recently.
She added that the fight against corruption is not a one-way approach as it requires the input of civil servants and the regular citizen as well to curb the canker.
She thus urged all to play their roles well to ensure graft is reduced to the barest minimum so that Ghana will develop as everyone expects.
