Personnel of the Ghana National Ambulance Service in the Eastern Region on Sunday, May 27, 2018 had a hectic time searching for a female student who lost her leg in a horrific accident which occurred at the Asiakwa -Kibi Junction near Bunso stretch of the Accra to Kumasi Highways.
They found the amputated leg later after the accident and had to be roaming from different Hospitals in search of the injured student to hand over the amputated limp to doctors for re-plantation.
Kasapa News sources indicate that 21 passengers including the driver were injured with some in critical condition.
The accident occurred around 10:48am, when a Sprinter bus with registration number AS – 5579 – 17 from Ashaiman heading towards Kumasi direction burst a tyre causing the driver to lose control of the steering wheel hence veered off the road and crashed the Vehicle against a Bill Board belonging to paradise resort erected at the road side.
Out of the 21 victims, 13 are on admission at Osiem Hawa Memorial Hospital, 5 at Enyiresi Government Hospital and the rest at Kyebi Government Hospital.
Meanwhile, the student who lost her leg has been referred to Eastern Regional Hospital, Koforidua.
