Anas' #12 evidence unreliable – Zylofon CEO

Nana Appiah Mensah Nana Appiah Mensah

The Chief Executive Officer of Zylofon Cash, Nana Appiah Mensah, sponsors of the Ghana Premier League (GPL), has said it is wrong to take certain decisions based on investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas' Number 12 documentary which exposed rot in Ghana football, because it “has not been subjected to the standards of the laws or rules of evidence before conclusions.”

His comment follows government’s decision to dissolve the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after the undercover piece which captured gross corruption, bribery and fraud, was aired on Wednesday and Thursday.

Mr Mensah, in a tweet, said “#Number12 presents Ghana a fine circumstantial documentary (film) evidence, but it is wrong to rely on such a material, which has not been subjected to the standards of the laws or rules of evidence before conclusions. I urge for calm. Let's deflate our rage. #GhanaShallprosper.”

Zylofon Cash last month signed a three-year deal worth $10million with the GFA to become title sponsors of the GPL.

The GFA president, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who signed the deal on behalf of the FA, has been implicated and currently assisting the police CID with investigation.

The future of the premier league is currently in limbo.
