Ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI firm is a “criminal organisation” infringing on the rights of people through blackmail, Mr Kwasi Nyantakyi, a former president of the Ghana Football Association, (GFA), has said.

“Anas behaves like ISIS,” Mr Nyantakyi stated in his first-ever media interview on Net2 TV on Thursday. “They set people up and I was set up.”

Mr Nyantakyi, who was forced to resign after Anas’ Number 12 undercover work caught him on camera allegedly taking bribe, said Tiger Eye PI is “a criminal organisation infringing on people’s rights.”

Mr Nyantakyi was banned for life from all football-related activities by Fifa after he was implicated in the Number 12 documentary.

“The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee has banned Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level,” a Fifa statement of Tuesday reads.

“The adjudicatory chamber found Mr. Nyantakyi guilty of having violated art. 19 (Conflicts of interest), art. 21 (Bribery and corruption) and art. 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2012 edition.

“As a consequence, Mr Nyantakyi is banned for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level. Additionally, a fine in the amount of CHF 500,000 has been imposed on Mr Nyantakyi”, the Fifa statement said.
