Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has threatened to expose investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, over what he has described as plush properties which the award-winning journalist did not acquire genuinely should he go ahead to premiere his latest ‘’Number 12’’ work which exposes corruption at the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The maverick politician speaking on Accra based Asempa FM described the investigate method used by Anas as unethical and unlawful.

Kennedy Agyapong stated emphatically that, Anas blackmailed people to acquire his plush properties scattered around Dworwulu in the Greater Accra Region.

He has dared Anas to premiere the video if he believes he is ready to stand his [Kennedy’s] wrath.

He is the latest to join calls for ace investigative journalist to be prevented by a court from premiering his latest expose on football and politics.

The legislator who was furious told Asempa FM that, Anas does not have what it takes to acquire the property in his name and if he [Agyapong] is pushed, he will strip Anas naked.

‘’Who gave Anas the authority to premiere the video? We have allowed him to engage in pure blackmail to enrich himself. I challenge him and I will also come out with evidence to prove that, he is not genuine. Go to Dworwulu at Medipharm, all the high rise buildings are for Anas.

Where did he get the money to construct all these buildings? Where did he get the money to buy all his lands which are in court? If he is a lawyer, he should tell us where he is practicing his law? The politician is unhappy the journalist has been allowed to invade the privacy of people over the years, all in the name of investigative journalism," he said.

Meanwhile, the editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Baako, has called the bluff of the legislator and challenged him to provide evidence to his claims and stop speculating. The astute journalist said he does not understand what Kennedy Agyapong is trying to establish.

On the litigation over the lands the MP made reference to, Mr. Baako said, the lands are currently before a competent court of jurisdiction hence the facts put out by the MP are not relevant because the issue is already a public record.

Mr. Baako said, the MP should provide an evidence to prove that, the properties acquired by Anas were through dubious means and until he is able to do that, I cannot engage in his speculations.
