Anglican Young People's Association holds camp meeting

Jamasi (Ash), Sept. 11, GNA - A four-day camp meeting of the Asante-Mampong Archdeaconry of the Anglican Young People's Association ended at Jamasi at the weekend with a call on the members to look on Jesus, the perfector, protector and giver of their lives. Mr Solomon Dwomoh, president of the Association, who made the call at the closing ceremony, told them as Christians, they must help build a stronger, united and peaceful nation.

He reminded them of the theme of their meeting, which was "Looking Unto Jesus" and urged them not to rely on anybody but on Christ and follow his footsteps in whatever they do.

Mr Dwomoh reminded them of the dangers of HIV/AIDS and warned them against indulging in early and indiscriminate sex, since they could easily contract the disease and other sexually transmitted diseases and asked them not to relent in their efforts at winning more souls for the church.

The members had earlier undertaken a four-hour clean-up exercise during which, they swept the principal streets of Jamasi and desilted the gutters in accordance with the saying that "Cleanliness is next to Godliness".
