Some residents in the Sogakope have blocked a major road leading to the community, to express displeasure over the murder of the assembly member Marcus Mawutor Adzahli.

Marcus Mawutor Adzahli, who is also a businessman, was shot dead Sunday dawn by armed men in his house.

His wife and child are currently in a critical condition at the district hospital.

In protest of recent killings and robbery attacks in the community some residents have massed up at Sogakope police station, blocked roads and bridges to express displeasure.

The situation has left some travellers using the route stranded, with long queues of vehicles behind both ends of the bridge.
