Ankomah endorsed as Essikadu-Ketan CPP Candidate

Kojokrom (W/R) Sept.19, GNA - Mr. Francis Noble Ankomah, an educationist was on Saturday endorsed by acclamation as Convention Peoples Party (CPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the newly created Essikadu-Ketan constituency at the Party's delegate's conference at Kojokrom near Takoradi.

Mr. Ankomah, aged 64 years was the only candidate who submitted his papers at the close of nominations, Mr. Kofi Alorzeke, CPP Western Regional Secretary told the 100 out of the 110 delegates present. They were made up of representatives from the 55 polling stations and constituency executives.

Mr. Samuel Anthony, constituency chairman in an address, said the CPP has the brightest moment since the overthrow of the first republic to exert its influence on the political arena.

He said the Party would spring a surprise in the upcoming elections and urged the electorate to give the Party their mandate because the Party still posses the strategy for the country's economic salvation.

Mr. Anthony advised Party activists and sympathisers to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful manner and avoid attacking personalities in their messages.

Mr. Tetteh Lartey, Deputy Regional Organiser of the Party mentioned some of the past achievements of the CPP in education, industry, agriculture, health and manpower development and said the Party still has a lot more to offer Ghanaians.

He said it was time for CPP splinter groups to come together as one political party to assume the reigns of power in the country.

Mr. Ankomah thanked the electorate for the confidence reposed in him and said he would work hard to win the seat for the CPP.

The 13-member Essikadu-Ketan constituency executive, chaired by Mr. Anthony was introduced to the people.
