Another new ramadan season of renewed blessings

The cock has crowed and the freshness of this season is continuing. Many are the months that have gone and many are the months that are yet to come. Each month has its own uniqueness but that of Ramadan is splendid. Ramadan has always kept that special smile in the hearts and minds of millions. It has captivated the innermost parts of our minds with its splendor and beauty.
Many are those that go astray, are deprived of basic necessities and are keeping fractured relationships with others. Many are those that have lost all hope and their despair and despondency in this passing world is unfortunate. Many are those that have no need of sacrificing a little bit of their wealth on others. But the beauty of this blesses month has brought love in the hearts of many, humility in the lifestyles of others and patience in the lives of an uncountable lot. The blessed month of Ramadan has been used by Allah the Almighty to teach the rich and wealthy how they can become generous and charitable.
Somewhere last year, I remember my uncontrollable tears upon the coming of this blessed month. I remember my numerous sins. I remember my mistakes some so sad and painful that my only hope is Allah’s mercy. I still stand by this as I cannot forget of my sins. I cannot forget of those sins and mistakes that words cannot explain, eyes cannot see and hearts might not perhaps be able to explore. I know I have sinned a lot and I know the doors of Jannah are opened in this blessed month. As this door is opened, I pray for Allah’s mercy, pardon and forgiveness.
There were times I wake up to think. So deep in thought I am, like the proverbial dog which is thought to be asleep during its period of deep thinking. I tried hard during such times to get solutions to my contemplated issues but all to no avail. Then I prostrate and communicate to my Everlasting Lord and Sustainer. There I get some sign of relief. But in this blessed month of Ramadan are times for great things. Shunning most evils, I have little to worry about. Communicating with my Sublime Creator is a continuous thing. I think and contemplate in Ramadan about my identity and mission in this fleeting world. With this thinking, I get a renewed hope in the mercy of Allah the Almighty whilst at the same time fearing Allah’s punishment. Ramadan is a blessed month of many parts.
There were times I have difficulties in uniting and reconciling with my own family. Shaytan has entered deeply into us and managed to sow seeds of discord and disunity amongst us. Then out of the bountiful mercy of Allah, this blessed month is given to us. In this blessed month of Ramadan, shaytan is chained so we easily reconcile with our families and equally tie strongly our ties of kinship. Our brotherliness is re-established and our only hope and prayer is for Allah the Almighty to cement and solidify it for us after the passing of this blessed month. How good is it that Allah in this blessed month has united us.
Greed and avarice has entered so deep into our lifestyles that we hardly respect the poor and the needy. We tend to think that the poor got to their current station through their own making. We actually ignore their plight, sufferings and pains. Then something comes into us and once in a while we remember to do well. Then come the blessed month of Ramadan with its numerous generosities. There the Glorious Qur’an speaks to us to give out to the poor and the needy. There it tells us to support the orphans and the widows. Then we realize our mistakes and selfishness. We then open our minds, purify our hearts and then extend a long helping hand to others. Though we are supposed to do this constantly, our feeble mind sinful and weak hearts cannot carry us on. Allah uses this blessed month to set the stage for us, open our hearts and mind to doing good and encouraging us to have constancy in being kind and generous.
I cannot say much on this other than praying for Allah’s mercy and blessings on the last and final Prophet and Messenger, Muhammad (PBUH), his family, companions and all believers. May Allah unite our hearts and help us to receive the good and blessings in this blessed month. May Allah forgive us our sins and unite us all Jannah.
