Anyako Youth Association donates to health center

In response to a report by the Ghana News Agency on September 23, 2023, highlighting the urgent need for essential hospital equipment at the Anyako Health Center, the Anyako Youth Association has stepped in with a significant donation, aimed at improving healthcare delivery in Anyako and its surrounding communities.

The donated items include hospital beds, a centrifuge, a suction machine, an oxygen cylinder, and a chemical balance.

During the presentation of the equipment at the inauguration ceremony, the President of the Anyako Youth Association, Cpl. Unity Fiagbedzi urged the youth from Anyako to contribute and join efforts in developing the town.

Essenam Atsu, the midwife in charge, expressed her delight at the swift response and generosity of the Anyako Youth Association.

She, however, pointed out that the facility still faces several challenges, including a lack of space for patient admissions ( a male & a female ward), the absence of a Full Blood Count (FBC) machine for laboratory diagnosis, Chemistry Analyzer machine, the need for a motorbike for home visits, dilapidated Physician bungalow, and lack of consumables.

The Assembly Member for Anyako Electoral Area, Wisdom Seade also took the opportunity to congratulate the association for their commendable gesture and appealed to other well-meaning natives of Anyako to come on board and contribute towards upgrading the health center to a standard that the community can be proud of.

He said an expansion of the facility into a polyclinic to include an eye unit, an X-ray unit, a male and a female ward, and other units to meet the growing demand of the people.

Representing the Dufia of Anyako at the inauguration ceremony, Togbi Aposa IV extended Togbi Dzokoto VII's appreciation and words of encouragement to the association and assured them of the full backing of the Council of Chiefs in their developmental endeavors.

Togbi Aposa IV also called on natives in and outside the community to support developmental agendas to help Anyako attain its glory.
