Apologize to Zita - Group warns MP

Tells him,HE WHO LIVES IN GLASS HOUSE DO NOT THROW STONES.

By Daily Democrat

Members of alliance for the advancement of democracy (AAD), a pressure group for the advancement of Ghana’s Democracy have called on HONOURABLE AFOTEY AGBO Member of Parliament for Kpone katamanso in the Greater Accra Region as a matter of urgency apologize to Minister of Information Mrs. Zita Okaikoi for his attacks on her. The group which also seeks to help deepening our fledgling democracy warned the MP that his failure to do so will compel them to advise themselves. The Member of Parliament is government nominee for minister of state at the office of the president.

In a statement, issued and signed by the group’s SPOKESPERSON, GODWIN TAMEKLO said members of the group took pain to watch the vetting of the minister designate and wish to state their reservation about comments made by the honorable MP in which he reaffirmed an earlier calling for the dismissal of the Minister of Information.

According to them, Honourable Afotey Agbo’s reason for her dismissal has to do with the fact that he believes that the minister is “incompetent”; we want to humbly ask the minister nominee to come out with one instance when the minister failed to discharge her duties.

Unfortunately, instead of the Honorable MP giving real and substantial reasons for his call he rather chose to say he has his ears on the ground, this we consider is a very disingenuous way of rumour mongering and to bring the name of the rather hardworking Honorable Minister into disrepute and public ridicule. We are of the considered opinion that the better Ghana agenda will not be prosecuted by turning the Information Ministry into PROPAGANDA tool for the dissemination of falsehood and a platform for vilification of political opponent, that era is long gone.

The Minister together with her team are doing good job which should rather be recommended, the Minister of Information like any other minister in this administration requires constructive criticism to enable the President achieve his better Ghana goal.

They entreated Honourable Afotey Agbo to desist from his destructive attitude which benefit no one and must render an unqualified apology to the Honourable Mrs Zita Okaikoi for dragging her name in the mud.

They advised Honourable Afotey Agbo to consider the wise saying that, HE WHO LIVES IN A GLASS HOUSE DO NOT THROW STONEs.

The group made it clear to him that they are capable of engaging him boot for boot for his dirty attacks on Mrs Zita Okaiko but for the sake of the good people of Kpone Katamanso he represents and our great party,NDC,the MP should render an apology to put the matter to rest.
