Apraku carries no political weight - Obiri Boahene

Some few weeks ago, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku called on the elders of the NPP to elect the right leader to ensure victory in the 2016 presidential election. According to him, the right leader would help transform and improve the fortunes of the NPP, and save it from losing an election again.

Political meanings were read into his call leading to despicable comments being fired from all cylinders.

Latest to join the fray of attackers is Nana Obiri Boahene, a renowned lawyer and a former minister of state under the erstwhile Kufuor regime.

Nana Obiri Boahene told Okay FM he finds it hard to come to terms with suggestions from Dr. Konadu Apraku that the New Patriotic Party must replace Nana Akufo-Addo.

According to him, it would do Dr. Konadu Apraku good if he should assess his past before spewing lies about Nana Addo. He argues that if Dr. Apraku would only remember the appalling numbers he polled when he contested Nana Addo as flagbearer, he would realize that he doesn’t carry political weight like the latter.

“Apraku’s call for a replacement is scientifically, academically, politically and morally baseless. All should endeavor to read the judgment that came from the nine judges who sat on the Supreme Court case. In the end, all level headed persons would realize that the 2012 election was marred by malpractices”, he said.
